November 4

Its an important day in history today! The Presidential Election takes place, and I know that many people are so very excited about the outcome! We have at the forefront, a African American man as the Democratic Presidential Candidate! Finally a new heroe for our children has emerged! In a time when mostly entertainers were all our children had as a reference to the American Dream. He is, in my opinion, the "Neo" of our time! And no I donot mean the popular musician, I mean, he is The One, the Chosen One! This man is annointed, and no matter what happens from this day forward, he is still a permanent fixture in every history and/or textbook.
There are indeed many fears behind his rise to power. I'll tell you one thing, I bet you Willie Lynch never saw this coming! Wherever he is in hell, they've probably turned up the heat! They've done everything to sway Obama. Even (in my opinion) a fictitious plot to assasinate this man by Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dumber. No more than a government planted and media infused plot. Completely bogus in efforts to sway the minority voter to fear for his life! Sounds like Bush to me, whose platform for eight years has been fear.
But what really matters the most? The hue of his epidermis, or choosing the right person for the job? He represents every Black man that was overlooked for a position due to his probably less qualified cunterpart of the other white meat. He represents every brown person hosed down and gunned down for taking a stance. He represents every slave, abused, mutilated, degredated, humiliated, desecrated, lynched and burned. Our ancestors never saw this coming, and probably never would have believed you if you explained the future. Imagine if you will, that you were 90+ years old right now, and African American. You've witnessed, Jim Crow Laws, World War's, The Vietnam War, The Gulf War, 9/11, not to mention the first attempt at the World Trade Center, and countless other tradegies and disasters, both Natural and Man Made. But above all the Civil Rights movement. I mean, I've had moments but I've never known what it meant to fear for my life because of the Color of My Skin. This blog is not to salute Obama specifically. I'm writing this to salute all the profound thinkers who instilled Black Power and Black Pride. To the strong stock, who suvived the Middle Passage and made it here to the Americas. Be it against their wills. To every black body thrown in the Mississippi and all those "Strange Fruit". Whether he wins tonight or not, their voices will be heard. And this is only the beginning...

Keep It Classic

Is anyone original anymore? I mean I go out from time to time. I'm an astute observer of my surroundings, and I especially love to see what people are doing fashionably. Coming where I'm from (NYC) I pride myself on the fact that I was enabled to express myself fashionably and not be judged. Don't get me wrong, New York is not the place to be slacking on your pimping fashionably! You WILL get snapped on. Its just that, when you're a fly individual, that shit translates. I may have picked on for allot of things but, DAMN, my mommy kept me and my sister fresh! I didn't know it then, but she was teaching me key lessons in the fashion game! One being trends are indeed, trendy, but they DO NOT translate thru time! And as I look back on old photos and things of that nature, I do reflect on all the "it" girls and boys whose looks could not translate now, however I could. You could take me out of a photo from 1992, and I could still walk around in that same fashion without looking like I'm headed to a "theme" party!
The point is to keep it classic. To devise a look that can and will stand the test of time. Its more than buying clothes! Its collecting pieces that your children and grandchildren will covet and one day hope to own. Some of my best and cherished garments are those that I've recovered from the women in my family! That's real talk! I come from a long line of fashionitas! KUDOS to them.
I say all this to say, that I recently went out and I was shocked! I mean literally shocked! All of the guys were either Hood Rock stars (i.e. Jim Jones), a geek (i.e.Pharell Williams) or a Ghetto General (i.e. Young Jeezy). Everywhere I turned there were either sparkles over crazy graphic shirts Mr. Roger's sweater with horn rimmed glasses, or Armed Forces type uniforms! I mean is there some sort of memo on these things that I'm not aware of? And the girls are no better! High wasted pencil skirts and ruffled blouses with PLASTIC fruity colored jewelry was the name of the game! Either that, or its the ugly Lycra dresses that were hot when Mystical's song "Danger" was big! All topped off with heir cheap Wet Seal pumps. It was just appalling!
Here's my advice to the fellas: KEY PIECES! I remember when guys simply matched their fitted's and their sneakers. Now these dudes are walking around looking like kaleidoscopes. I mean dudes! You dont have to have sparkles and graphics on your fitted, shirt, jeans, hoodies and sneakers! Tone it down a bit! Its all about the key piece that beats them in the head. Its that one item in your ensemble that no one can deny. You could have on the wackest shit ever but as long as you have that key piece thats a whammy, no one is seeing you. Figure out what that piece is gonna be in your ensemble and then work around it! As far as the geek look goes, it actually pretty classic so I dont have anything negative to say about it, however, I do remember a time that the only dudes that wanted to look like that were gay, making that look taboo. I'm proud that many elleged heterosexual males are stepping outside the box and gravitating towards a very runway look! Kudos! As far as that military type shit goes, you're gonna be as dissapointed as all those guys who copped all of those official throwback jerseys! Not a good investment because the next trend is coming soon! I garauntee it!
Oh ladies! Dont think I forgot about you! Here are some words of wisdom! Stop shopping the window! The window display is only there to entice you, but by no means are you supposed to buy the EXACT outfit! Explore and express yourself fashionably! Search for YOUR specific style. Understand your body type and buy pieces that will enhance. Here's a thought: maybe if you stop shopping at these overwhelming stores where they actually have clothes hanging up on the walls and strewn about you wouldnt be so compelled to just give up and ask the question: "umm, excuse me, where is that outfit in the window?" I dont hate the Wet Seals and the Charlotte Rousse's but again, these are not stores where you will locate key pieces. These stores are plug ins. Plug-ins meaning you purchase the more expensive piece, that will have longevity (both in maintenance and style), and then you "plug-in" those cheaper pieces. Come on ladies, take advantage of this! Only women can wear one expensive garment littered with a whole bunch of other bullshit and make it look like a million bucks! Do you honestly feel like the shit when you walk in and all the girls (including yourself) are fashion vistim clones! I know I wouldn't! I dont even want a bitch to have the same shoes as me, let alone her whole outfit! Look at yourselves as a palate, and your clothing is the paint that you will use to create your own masterpiece, each and everyday!
Well my darlings, I'm sure this is a subject that I will revisit time and time again. For as long as there are trends, I will reject and denounce them. Bottom line, keep it classic! Clothes dont make the man, the man makes the clothes. Stop trying so hard! Cause when you try hard, you die hard!

Power of the P U S S Y

I have to admit ladies. I've sold myself short in the past! And for what? As Jay-Z would put it, "hard dick and bubblegum,"! Now you know thats some straight up bullshit! No more I say, no more. Im not saying hold out the pussy, because we're all human. I am saying that this is your body we're talking about. Nobody has to deal with it but you!! Think about it, if you have pain, you deal with it alone...
Just remeber that ya pussy is gold. Make these men work for that shit!! If you dont already know with men you gotta set the standard immediately. If u show him your standards are low off-gate, thats what he'll know, therefore thats what he'll practice. And it'll be a hell of a time breaking him out of it later.
Another thing WE HAVE GOT TO STOP DOING LADIES!! Is giving these men 100% from jump street. Thats madd! Its fucking insane. Im sorry do not let these fellas use you up honey!!! We over here opening our homes and hearts to complete losers who really aint providing shit!! And you know why? Just come to grips with it!! We're Dickmatized !! If you haven't received one yet, Miss K is giving you ya first theoretical slap for 2008, and telling you to 'SNAP OUT OF IT!' give a little of yourself at a time. Shit, thats what these men are doing out here!! Everything is a halfway lie or a partial truth... Keep your own secrets!!
My chief philosophy is yeah I may have one main man in my life, but until I receive that Tiffany's and Co., I'M SINGLE!! YA FEEL ME BITCHES!
Bad Bitches of the World Unite and Activate: Operation Fuck Niggaz, Get Money!!
Miss K

Generation Y ask Y?

I know you've been wondering people. "What is it that I feel in the air?" Its that classic notion of BIG THINGS POPPIN'!! Thats right if u are now between the ages of 23 to roughly 27, you classified as Generation Y! And we were just that, the generation that asked that question, Y? We pushed the envelopes, guided by an ever diligent pack: Generation X. The 80's babies. Those motherfuckers said " To hell with a 9 to 5, I'm making my own way." Be that Wall Street or the Streets of the ghetto, those motherfuckers--- They was tryna go get it!!! Unfortunately, not everyone could succeed. Some would perish a "colored-collared slaved..."
We rejected everything, from school, to their concepts of how life should be. We were guided by the music, we literally grew up with Hip-Hop. How lucky is that?
So there you are, reuniting with people you had strong connections with in school, but somehow you all drifted apart... We didn't know it, we were building our vast network. We were building our teams. At this point it doesn't even matter who you did or did not fuck with back in school. That shit is irrelevant. Right now, the name of the game concerns one thing: PERSUING YOUR DREAMS IN ORDER TO STACK THAT GREEN. It's either your getting money, or your letting it pass you by.
[ I recommend that everyone go out and get the Secret, either on dvd or in book form. You can find it at Barnes and Nobles as well as, funny enough, any FedEx Kinkos. ]
Bottom line, find what puts ya soul at ease. Y'all motherfuckers cant even sleep cause your so caught UP trying to figure out what the next man is doing and how come it appears that everyone else is so much busier than u are. They probably are, because they're not worrying about what the fuck you're doing. They're filling their own social calendars. They're making things happen for themselves. AIN'T NOBODY GONNA DO FOR YOU BUT YOU!! And the moment you rely on the next man you've failed. My mom alway used to say " its a mighty poor rat who only has one whole! "
Miss K says, Get Ya Mind Right , BITCHES ! We see how the world is changing. There's actually a black man with good chances of getting in the White House *(despite what some pessimists may say). We've kinda shuffled along, in a fog of mediocracy. From music to most of the movies that have been released lately. The only shit in theatres that can entertain us is shit they made before but someone thought it would be hot to see it with "NEW MILLENIUM" special effects. (Shit, we all know action movies havent been the same since the Matrix).
The movement is in motion. We're gonna really begin to see who was goin to get, and who was just talking about it! GET-GET-GET IT!

Consider Your Mate

Does my dude really fuck with me? Thats a question that many women ask and we often debate over. Their are certain prerequisites neccessary to knowing the answer to that question. First off is consideration. Does he consider you in the things that he does? Take a moment to think about this ladies. When ur feeling a man, you consider him ! Let me give you some examples: you've decided that you're going to go pick up some to-go food, out of consideration you're compelled incorporate to him. What's the first thing we do ladies? Call his punk-ass to see if he wants something from the spot. We as women naturally want to satisfy our lovers. In the midst of that we end up exhausting so much energy. Now this is a scientific fact: When energy is given off, it must be replenished!! 98% of us are not receiving the proper replenishment and nourishment. This goes back to my prior notion of not giving these niggas 100!! As a result we have nothing left. Nothing left for our families, nothing left for our friends, nothing left for our kids, and most importantly, nothing left for ourselves!!
Get a clue honey! If everyone around you has pointed out that that your relationship is taking you to the dark-side, you may need to re-examine things!! Naw, we don't do that. We don't question the source of the change ( that nigga ), no. We turn away from the very people who can help us move .. a tumultuous relationship.
Going back to my original thought about consideration. That consideration is the sustinance needed to keep a bitch from feeling so depleted. The Dream said it so well: " Is she fine? Is shorty a dime? You should tip her, you should tip her! If she thorough, and you love her, you should tip her, you should tip her! If she fix you eggs and grits in the morning man, you should tip her, you should tip her. Pancakes with the bacon on the side..." Its not a gold-digger thing. "Tipping her," doesn't even have to do with things of monetary value. Run my bath water sometimes, rub my shoulders, tell me you think I look good every now and again...
Ladies, DONT get it twisted. It goes both ways. Everybody functions off energy. A man must be replenished too. If you are one of the lucky few receiving the proper care from your honey, whether you do or don't want him permanently, dont abuse that man!! One he doesnt deserve it, especially if he's diligently trying to look out for your bitch-ass. A man scorned is a terrible thing, and why fuck-it up for the next bitch.
